| Abstract: | This study examines the identity-shaping processes of Israeli-Jewish ultra-Orthodox (Haredi) doctoral students and graduates of both genders. The research question is, how do Haredi women and men cope with their academic versus their Haredi identity in their higher education study, and what are the similarities and differences between them? Based on the findings, we suggest the need to develop tools for more effective coping with the encounter of Haredi students with higher education based on the practical experience of those who have made it through the initial stages. |
