Abstract: This article is an evidence-based practice piece that proposes "Learning Labs" as a useful approach to teachers' professional learning about how to foster discussions. We share examples from two research projects involving different iterations of "Learning Labs for Social Studies" that supported teachers in promoting student learning through talk. We argue that "Learning Labs" can offer school leaders and practitioners a helpful approach to supporting teachers as they develop their professional practice and promote a shared culture of discourse.
