| Abstract: |
The article presents information on polymorphisms of the Neuregulin 1 gene (NRG1) that are genetically associated with schizophrenia in the Chinese population. A case-control study in a Chinese sample, analyzed microsatellites extending about 360kb from upstream of NRG1 to the first intron. The subjects consisted of 540 unrelated schizophrenic in-patients and 279 controls. All case samples were collected from the Shanghai Mental Health Center. Although the statistical results indicate the end of NRG1 associated with schizophrenia in the sample, confirmed by either single marker analysis or haplotype analysis, there are still several problems. |
