| Abstract: |
Psychological Science, a leading journal in the field of psychology, has made transparency the default in its research practices. The journal now expects all primary data, research materials, and analysis scripts to be made publicly available in a trusted third-party repository. Authors are responsible for ensuring responsible sharing while maximizing transparency. The journal has also introduced a team of Statistics, Transparency, and Rigor (STAR) editors to perform transparency checks and facilitate independent reuse and verification of research outputs. Additionally, the journal has partnered with the Institute for Replication to verify the reproducibility of published articles. The journal is decommissioning its current badges and introducing a new Computational Reproducibility Badge. Preregistration remains optional but authors are required to disclose any deviations from the original plan. The journal aims to promote a more rigorous, verifiable, efficient, cumulative, and self-correcting science. [Extracted from the article] |
