Abstract: The article tackles the risk facing U.S. immigrant doctoral students in advocating for health equity while navigating lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ+) public health research. Topics discussed include effect of anti-diversity, equity and inclusion policies, uncertainty of the academic futures of immigrant scholars, impact of policy shifts on the mental health and belonging of LGBTQ+ community, and silencing effect of political pressures on academic freedom and career paths.
