Abstract: The article examines how policy shifts are reshaping careers for Black women in public health beyond inclusion. Topics discussed include positionality of Black women who are doctor of philosophy (PhD) students, restrictions of health equity research and marginalization of social justice scholars as a result of the sociopolitical climate in the U.S., and responsibility of higher education institutions to inform students about their approaches to academic freedom and to maintain inclusivity.
