Abstract (English): This article examines the correlation between stress symptoms and job satisfaction in 145 male staff members of the custody and surveillance corps of a penitentiary in Santander. The research focuses on understanding how these factors affect security guards, who are exposed to emotional strain due to their work with incarcerated individuals. The methodology adopted is quantitative, with a correlational and descriptive approach, using the Stress Assessment Questionnaire and the Job Satisfaction Scale by Warr, Cook, and Wall. The results reveal a negative correlation between job satisfaction and stress symptoms, leading to the conclusion that staff who experience high levels of job satisfaction present lower stress symptoms and vice versa.
