Abstract: Objective: This study examined the factors contributing to the physical, and mental health of international women of color in college and how they relate to their academic success. Method: A qualitative research design, involving in-depth interviews with twenty international women of color from a large U.S. Midwestern college was used to explore factors affecting their health, and academic success. A hybrid deductive and inductive thematic analysis approach was employed to identify thematic patterns. Results: Most participants reported good physical health. However, their physical health may be impacted by unhealthy habits. Some participants would not seek mental health help due to cultural differences. Physical and mental health could influence their academic success and vice versa. Social connections and support groups may positively influence their well-being and academic success. Discussion: International college women of color need tailored interventions to address their concerns. Support groups, with peers facing similar stressors can enhance connections.
