Abstract: This article examines the critical role of bilingual counselors in broaching cultural and linguistic identities when working with Latine clients. As cultural brokers, bilingual counselors navigate communication barriers while situating clients' lived experiences within their cultural context. Using the multicultural orientation framework, we highlight cultural humility, comfort, and opportunities as essential components of broaching. This article emphasizes key topics for broaching with Latine clients, including linguistic differences, intergenerational and historical trauma, phases of immigration, familismo, personalismo/simpatía, religiosity/spirituality, machismo/ marianismo, resilience, intersectionality, and ethical dilemmas. By addressing these dimensions, counselors can validate clients' worldviews, reduce ruptures in the therapeutic alliance, and strengthen trust. We have included bilingual (Spanish and English) examples of broaching statements and interventions, along with a case illustration demonstrating their application. These tools equip bilingual counselors to validate clients' lived experiences and foster more inclusive and effective therapeutic engagement with Latine communities. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
