Abstract: Discusses the two main types of material that survive from the Canyon Diablo impactor, iron meteorites and spheroids. Results of measurements taken using accelerator mass spectrometry; Indication that spheroids came deeper in the impactor than did the meteorites; Numerical modeling indicating the thickness of the shell remaining solid on the rear surface; How most of the projectile melted and while little vaporized.
