Abstract: The article examines the validity and reliability of a report form which is used to measure the work performance of psychiatric patients in mental hospitals in Great Britain. The layout of the form is based on the form used by the Industrial Rehabilitation Units of the Ministry of Labor. It aims to cover the needs of any supervisor who reports on the performance of any patient. Its validity is assessed by studying the work reports of patients who have been discharged, while the reliability of the report is determined by an experiment which is arranged in the admission unit. The report form is proven to be useful in recording and communicating information about a patient's work performance, yet it is not as valid or reliable since the wording of some of the items is not objective.
