| Abstract: |
The article discusses the aims of the author's doctorial research on counseling psychology in Great Britain. The aims of the research include determining the experiences and challenges faced by qualified counseling psychologists when working with children, exploring the factors that lead to the shortage of child and adolescent psychotherapists in the country and filling a gap that is fundamental for the emerging counseling psychology profession. The Office for National Statistics (ONS) Health Survey is also cited which found that one in every 10 children has clinically recognizable mental disorder. |
