Abstract: In this article the author reflects on the usage of Ramadan period as a catch to encourage smoking cessation by many public health authorities. It is stated that Ramdan is a period during which Muslims should not eat, drink, and smoke from dawn to dusk. He highlights some potential disadvantages of encouraging abrupt cessation at the start of Ramdan, like attending smoking cessation clinics.
