The article focuses on the life and career of Cuban poet Roberto Fernández Retamar who is known for his work in the field of Latin American literature. Various topics related to Fernández Retamar that are discussed include essays written by him on the history of Latin America, social transformation in Cuba, the philosophical reconstruction of Latin American culture, theory of Latin American literature, the complexity of the Latin American literary sector, and creative polemics on emerging societies.
