Abstract (English): The text is a review of the book "El liberalismo herido. Reclaiming Freedom against the Nostalgia of Authoritarianism) written by José María Lasalle. The author analyzes the decline of liberalism in the face of neoliberalism and argues that we are in a moment of humanity's refoundation. Lasalle vindicates the role of old liberals and criticizes defenders of neoliberalism. He also highlights the importance of the democratization of liberalism and its role in the consolidation of individual freedom. The text mentions the crisis of the Welfare State and the cultural war between liberals and neoliberals. The text talks about how the ideas of neoliberal thinkers have shaped globalization in recent years. It is mentioned that the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 led to an authoritarian turn in neoliberalism, influenced by the thinking of Leo Strauss. This resulted in presidential caesarism, military operations without prior declaration of war, and the emergence of an ideological nationalism marked by polarization. Additionally, it is mentioned that the 2008 crisis exacerbated inequality and wealth concentration, leading to the demoralization of Western middle classes. The influence of social networks in the spread of fear speeches and conspiracy theories is also highlighted. Finally, the emergence of the Alternative Right and its connection with world leaders such as Donald Trump, Bolsonaro, Marine Le Pen, Salvini, and Abascal is mentioned. The author argues that Trumpism has hybridized neoliberal thinking with fascism, representing a threat to democracy and peaceful coexistence. [Extracted from the article]
[Extracted from the article]
