| Abstract (English): | Fifty-one years after the publication of the book "To Read Donald Duck," the reasons why, after being censored in Chile in 1973 and banned in the United States in 1975, it was able to be disseminated in more than 20 editions and 15 languages, are analyzed. Under a documentary review of the editions, especially the Spanish, English and French versions that gave it an academic communicational tone and a context of mass colonialism. It was found that it was independent publishers who managed to disseminate the book as a product of current counterculture and a concern of local translators and prologue writers about how Disney penetrated their countries with a strange and dangerous fascination of the middle classes. | Abstract (Spanish): | A 51 años de la publicación del libro "Para leer al Pato Donald" se analizan las razones por las cuales después de ser censurado en Chile en 1973 y prohibido en Estados Unidos en 1975, pudo difundirse en más de 20 ediciones y 15 idiomas. Bajo una revisión documental de las ediciones, en especial las versiones español, inglés y francés que le dieron un tinte académico comunicacional y un contexto de colonialismo de masa. Se encontró que fueron editoriales independientes las que lograron difundir el libro como un producto de contracultura vigente y una preocupación de traductores y prologuistas locales sobre cómo Disney penetró en sus países con una extraña y peligrosa fascinación de las clases medias. | Abstract (Portuguese): | Cinquenta e um anos após a publicação do livro "Para Ler o Pato Donald", os motivos pelos quais, depois de ter sido censurado no Chile em 1973 e proibido nos Estados Unidos em 1975, conseguiu ser divulgado em mais de 20 edições e 15 idiomas, são analisados. Sob uma revisão documental das edições, especialmente das versões espanhola, inglesa e francesa que lhe conferiram um tom comunicacional acadêmico e um contexto de colonialismo de massa. Verificou-se que foram as editoras independentes que conseguiram divulgar o livro como um produto da contracultura atual e uma preocupação dos tradutores locais e escritores de prólogo sobre como a Disney penetrou em seus países com um fascínio estranho e perigoso das classes médias.
