description This paper analyzes the work of José Fdez. Nonídez and Antonio de Zulueta in the introduction of classic genetics in Spain during the first third of the 20th century. Morgan's theory was imported by Nonídez into Spain after his return from Columbia University. JAE's norm was to create a work group around the researchers that came back from abroad, in which the new theories could grow. However, in the case of genetics the institutionalization and diffusion task fell on the hands of Zulueta, who reached some international prestige.
