Summary:The results of an innovative critical thinking test applied to students who complete their high school cycle and who live in marginal sectors of Bogotá - Colombia, are analyzed in light of the problem situation that served as the scenario: “Election of the Student Representative”. These results are the input to: 1) Demonstrate that our students are not ready to assume responsibilities like this and 2) propose in the school possible lines of action to address this problem.
