| Abstract: | The current literature lacks information on how children associate colors with their content. This study investigated children's personal color preferences to explain their associations with color adjectives. The experiment was divided into two stages: (1) color association vocabulary collection and (2) investigation of color adjectives and color preferences. Five elementary school teachers and thirty children aged 9-12 separately participated at these stages. The results of this study found that: (1) preference affects the association of adjectives in color, (2) cultural differences affect the perception of color, and (3) difference of the preference color in gender. In the future, the color association caused by media changes may change from time to time. The results of this research can help children use color in learning. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
